I had a million thoughts #5, #6, #7, & #8

Reciprocity (rec·i·proc·i·ty)= The give and take in any type of relationship.

I wonder why it’s so easy for many to take but so hard for them to give? Where's the give and take when it's time for the taker to give? Does the giver give because it's harder for them to take than it is to give? In this self fulfilling world, does reciprocity even live?

I was in a convo about this very subject last night...it seems like the best way to approach giving to anybody, family, friends, coworkers, etc is to not look for them to reciprocate at all. Not in a negative way - just keep your focus on giving to them as unto the Lord so then your reciprocation comes from an unlimited source - God and God alone - cast your bread on the waters, sista and let it come back to you from whoever, wherever and whenever as God orchestrates - this takes FAITH, tho'...but surely it takes the stress off a little bit -

@Trina-That's real talk right there Sistah! God once told me to give without expectations.....being able to do that definitely requires faith...knowing man may not give in return...but God will bless the giving heart.

I agree with you. I think that you give with no expectations. That's the best thing to do

Its crazy... because for some it may be easier to give then receive... and that is a problem too that some may not notice. My grandmother is like that. Sometimes she gives so much that she forgets about taking care of herself.

its certainly easier for me 2 give

my pride (i know, k. kitten, i know) makes it difficult for me to take

i dunno if true and equal give and take exist anymore

I don't know why...great question though. I bet there are a million reasons too - lol.

Definitely a great question. Honestly I am one of the rare people that actually have an easier time giving then I do at taking.

Very thought provoking post. I have a lot of takers in my life… that I’m trying to weed through, I must admit. I’m proud to say I’m a giver… but sometimes to a fault. Many have mistook my kindness for weakness. I give because I feel like I’m in a position to do so. Since I’m able to, I feel that it’s a necessity. But now that I’m thinking about it… I don’t really take. Hmm… interesting.

I think when you deal with honorable and genuine people, it isn't a problem.

I know there are a couple of folk in this world I owe BIG TIME! I just hope I am in position when they need themselves so that I can show them how much their help meant to me when it happened.
