Okay so I have an opportunity to give up my TREO 755p and get the brand new Instinct phone or the Blackberry Curve through Sprint for a price you can’t beat with a bat. The problem is…..I’m torn between the two phones. Why is getting a new phone causing me so much confusion?
The Instinct does almost everything at the touch of our finger including an audible GPS system, but you can’t read or edit Word and Excel documents. (I want a GPS system….like having Word option, but I don’t use it anymore like I did before I got a laptop). Plus I love to text and I’m wondering if the touch keyboard will slow me down.
The Blackberry Curve has a lot of the same features my Treo has, but you can’t send or receive pictures through text (SPRINT CURVE ONLY) and I use that a lot. Also, there is a step by step GPS, but it’s not audible.
What’s a girl to do????? Do any of you have either phone or one similar to it? What do you like about your phone? What don’t you like about your phone? Help a Sistah out!

My brother got the Sprint phone and he loves it...wish I could be more helpful. I plan to wait until my B-day in Nov when I've seen how everyone else try them out before I decide myself. Audible GPS and a good price on the plan is a must for me!!
I have the Blackberry Pearl. What I hate about Sprint service with Blackberry, you can only send pics to email or other Blackberry phones.
I'm no help b/c I have neither but I do love BB. I'm looking into getting the BB Bold.
@ Keisha the Kitten
Get the Curve! That's what I'm gonna get. LOL
OK.. from a chick who has the bbbery curve and the LG voyager... which is similar to the instinct... I would go with the curve... I like the voyager because you have the option to flip open the phone to text instead of using the touch screen but the instinct does not have that option... the touch screen stuff is cool at first but get olds and inconvenient quick...
the curve is the bizness... i spend more time on that then I do my voyager so get ready to get addicted... it really is a crackberry
from bberry messenger... to fast text... easy access to multiple emails... internet that looks like the actually site and not a wap site...
i could go on and on!
I wish I could help, but I'm clueless about this stuff...I do like my BB pearl, though I'm getting bored with it and ready for something new. Let me know what you decide.
I'm a Treo girl at heart I have the 700wx thru Sprint and the HTC PPC-6800 thru Alltel (don't ask me why I have 2 service carriers and lets not discuss that I have my hubby and SIL thru both carriers so a total of 6 billable phones)...My girlfriend just got rid of her Instinct because it kept hanging up and placing her calls on mute, so she went to the Apple Iphone which she loves. My aunt on the other hand has the Blackberry Curve and swears that its better than the treo although I beg to differ since in the past I had the Blackberry Pearl which I had all of 2 weeks before going back to the Treo (hated that damn ball and the whole layout). But best of luck with your decision...
Okay, I ain't a phone gadget freak or nothing. But based on the downsides you mentioned, I would definitely get the Instinct! I mean Word and Excel documents? It's a dang phone! You don't need that! But not being able to send pictures in text messages is a not so cool thing. Hell my Motorola W490 can do that!
But really I ain't a phone gadget freak so I am really no help!
i cant stand blackberrys NOR sprint.... to me thats like a professional business phone (that is it!!)
well i LOVVVEEEE my sidekick LX..AND tmobile!!!!!! i love everything about it...
the keyboard....the aim....the web...my tmail..the lil noises it makes... i dont really like the camera tho...
thats the only thing that they coulda upgraded...the pix look like i still have a sidekick 2...lol
but you should get the curve...ive heard better things about it that the stankberry!!!!!!!!!!!
i meant to say instinct instead of the curve!!!! lol
I'm still livin' in the days of the dinosaur...
[Think I'm the only adult alive who doesn't have a cell phone *SIGH*]
I think that BB Curve is where it's at though!
Hmmm... To curve or not to curve, that is the ? Well... I am heading into the curve alone, hopefully I don't wipe-out!
i dont know why i thought you were getting the iphone, lol
i must have been deliriously sleepy this morning lol
okay, i dont know what to tell you mami
and why are you not on my page
i sent the email to kitten 09 email, it might be in your spam if you dont see it in your inbox
Well, you know I have the blackberry curve...it's awesome. I say go w/that.

I have the BB Curve and love absolutely everything about it. I am still learning a few things here and there, but it is the best phone I have had to date.
Happy shopping!
Sister,
I have a razor which I love because well I know how to use it. I am thinking of getting a Blackberry. I had one years ago and didn't care for it. But now that I have so much stuff going on, a phone of that calibre would help manage this big life! That's my fantasy and I sticking ot it...LOL!
i have no advice so dont ask me why i am leaving a comment.... just wanted to give you a shout out.... whatever phone you get, be sure to let us know... :) decisions decisions decisions...
I have Sprint and I used to be a lover of Treo's 700p, 755p then a Centro. I just had way too many problems with them. I switched to the Pearl then upgraded to the Curve and it is an awsome phone and I will most likely never leave Balckberry. There is a way around the MMS issue. It is a pain but it works. You can receive MMS just technically can't send them but you can.
You email the pic to yourself with this:
(Your number here)@PM.sprint.com
You get the link then you can forward the pic. It is a pain but it works. Hope this helps. If you do go to a Curve be sure to check out www.pinstack.com. Check the forums and any question you have about your Curve or BB for that matter will be answered. Hope this helps.
